A Man's Place With His Children
Traditionally, it's the woman that stays home with the children.
Cooks, cleans, takes care of the household business. In today's
society, it's a little different. Yes, there still the Stay At
Home Mom, no longer called a Housewife, more so because that term has
lost it's value over the years, and has become a bit demeaning.
These days women have become more respected, those of who stay at home,
and the job(s) that they do while at home have earned more respect over
the years. There are still some husbands out there that don't, but
there are many that do. What made the change?
Perhaps in our ever growing society, ever changing homesteads, a light
bulb went off. Perhaps someone finally said, "Staying at home.
It's just not for women anymore." I got to tell you, although my
current position was forced on me, it's the best one I've ever had!
I cannot tell you the joys I get out of being at home. I have
pains too, but they pale in comparison to going to a job that, after 11
years, did not satisfy me in any way other than the paycheck I got every
two weeks.
This website is about my journey over the past year to where I am now.
As I write this I still may enter the workforce again, God willing, but
hopefully He will allow me to still enjoy this other life I've
discovered while also providing more financial security for my family. I
chose to write about my experience because I myself felt I leaped
through a wormhole. I discovered a different world...an amazing
world filled with joy, laughter, and pain.
I may spill a few secrets, or talk about some things already known, but
they will be from my perspective. A Man's perspective.
Hopefully I will do this old time profession some justice, and get more
praise for the people who stay at home.
I'm ⅜ of the way there. I have to compose myself first, pour myself a glass of wine, and begin.
